Marty Beard
Marty is a visionary tech leader with extensive C-suite experience at both public and private companies. As co-founder of alwaysAI, he built a Vision AI platform from concept to market. Previously, as COO of BlackBerry, Marty helped pivot the company from an unprofitable smartphone business to a profitable “Enterprise of Things” software business. His leadership experience includes serving as CEO of LiveOps, where he revolutionized cloud-based multichannel customer support, and President of Sybase 365, where he scaled a $240M mobile messaging and applications business, ultimately culminating in the $6B acquisition of parent Sybase by SAP. Marty combines strategic vision with operational excellence, having orchestrated over a dozen acquisitions and developed industry-leading partnerships. He holds a BA in Rhetoric and History from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Georgetown.
Pete Buhl
Pete is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and tech executive with deep roots in venture capital. As co-founding General Partner at BlueRun Ventures (formerly Nokia Ventures), he helped raise $1B across four funds and served on the board of PayPal and oversaw numerous successful exits to Google, Akamai, HP, and others. Pete co-founded Beeline Connect, which was acquired by Accell Group in 2018. Subsequently, Pete helped re-acquire Beeline and currently serves on its Board. Pete's prior operating experience as CFO and COO spanned enterprise, consumer, and fintech verticals where he oversaw multiple exits as both buyer and seller. Pete began his career as a CPA at Price Waterhouse and holds a BS from the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley.
