• Sybase - After crafting the “Unwired Enterprise” corporate strategy, led 10 acquisitions in support of the strategy, including the $425M acquisition of Mobile 365; then grew the new Sybase 365 subsidiary from $90M to over $240M as President...a key asset supporting SAP’s acquisition of Sybase for $6B.

• Teknekron/SAC - As CFO & COO, navigated multiple CEO transitions, streamlined execution, helped drive growth to +$30M, and oversaw multiple buy side acquisitions, culminating in separate business unit acquisitions by Metavante and FICO.

• Ipsilon Networks - Joined as CFO and employee #24; oversaw initial revenue scaling and team building to ~200 employees, coordinated the company’s acquisition by Nokia and subsequent integration into Nokia.

• BlackBerry Corporation - As COO, helped lead an intensive turn-around effort to exit a money-losing hardware business and strategically pivot to a cash-flow positive mobile and cybersecurity software business - requiring massive changes to people/process/systems - all under the public company spotlight.

• AppCentral - Served as COO, successfully led a 9-month repositioning and turnaround, resulting in acquisition by Good Technology.

• BeelineBikes (now BeelineConnect) - Founded Beeline, raised strategic and venture capital, grew from concept through acquisition by Accell Group NV, and later orchestrated a buyback from Accell.

• alwaysAI - Founded computer vision software company, developing an enterprise AI platform from scratch, raising over $20M in venture funding, and scaling the initial customers in retail and industrial verticals.

• LiveOps - As CEO led a major strategic pivot from on-demand customer support staffing (a people intensive business) to building and scaling a multichannel customer support SaaS platform (a software intensive business).

• Nokia - As part of corporate development team, led multiple acquisitions and strategic investments.

• Oracle - Worked with SVP of Strategy to create and drive Oracle Store, an e-commerce initiative to attack Microsoft and sell database and business applications online to SMBs.

VC Experience, Board and Industry Leadership

• Nokia Ventures / BlueRun Ventures – Co-founded Nokia Ventures with a $100M LP commitment from Nokia. Rebranded to BlueRun, grew to $1B AUM across four funds, with a diversified LP base, and a global team of +15 professionals. We led Series A for Paypal, WAZE, Coupa Software, Ganji, & many more.

• Board Leadership – In addition to serving on Boards as CEO/Founders (LiveOps, Beeline, AlwaysAI), we have also served on 20+ boards including PayPal (PYPL), Harris Poll (acquired by Nielsen Media), Location Labs (acquired by Avast), Netli (acquired by Akamai), Like.com (acquired by Google), Bitfone (acquired by HP), NexPlanar (acquired by Cabot), FreedomPay, etc. Also served as a Board member of the CTIA Wireless Association.
